RESIDENTS of Taman Desawan in Klang who are staying near the houses affected by the sinkhole have been advised to move out temporarily.

This is to prevent any mishap from occurring due to the sinkhole problem experienced by several houses in Jalan Gambus 4A and 4B.
Klang Municipal Council communications and public complaints director Norfiza Mahfiz said three houses in Jalan Gambus 4B and one in Jalan Gambus 4A had been declared unsafe for occupation.
“The council wants to demolish the houses so that the neighbouring homes will not be affected by the sinkhole.

“However, a dispute over the compensation between the affected house owners and the Klang District Office is holding us back,” she said.
Norfiza urged residents from neighbouring houses to vacate their premises as a precautionary measure.
“They can return once the affected homes are demolished,” she said.
K. Ramanathan, 48, who lives two doors away from the affected house in Jalan Gambus 4B, said he had lodged a police report after further damage was caused following a downpour recently.
He said two neighbouring houses had been declared unsafe about a year ago.
