Lutgen does not forsake studies despite being a busy model

What say you on the issue below?

AT THE age of 18, Lisa Sari Lutgen has a busy schedule between high school and her modelling career, but this German-Malay lass is more than happy to juggle her hectic lifestyle.

Lutgen, a student at the Deutsche Schule Kuala Lumpur, a German school located near Jalan Utara, Petaling Jaya is a Jill of all trades.

Blessed with good looks, great bone structure and fantastic physique, this lanky girl has a penchant for the world of arts.

Not just a pretty face: Lutgen is looking forward to becoming a runway model in the short run before achieving her dreams of working in Berlin.

In her younger days, she used to take art classes and enjoyed sketching before she decided to try out modelling for the fun of it.

“I was 14 then and my friend and I decided to try out at the modelling agency — model.com — just to earn some money,” said Lutgen, who has always dabbled in television commercials.

Being a student has never hampered her part-time job as a model.

A down-to-earth girl, Lutgen believes that education comes first and is good at prioritising.

As long as her modelling assignments do not collide with school work and her classes, she is ever ready to complete the modelling task.

“The education system at the German school is really different, we have exams throughout the year so it is always very stressful. So I have to be really disciplined. In a way it will help me prepare for my university days,” she said.

Lutgen is keen on pursuing her education in the field of graphic design or media in Germany after her graduation in June next year. She hopes to spend a few months in Kuala Lumpur for internship that will give her enough experience to take with her to Germany. However, she hopes to explore her opportunities as a model.

Her supportive parents are a great asset to her budding career. Her German mother who is a freelance translator, is always around to help choose her outfits for a shoot or even dropping by to watch her work.

In fact, her mother helped her realise another hobby that is now close to her heart, photography.

For someone who has always worked behind the camera, the joy of learning the art of photography and the mechanics of a camera was a new found love for Lutgen.

She said her mother enrolled her in a photography class in September this year that spurred her interest in manual cameras.

“There is something about manual cameras that makes you appreciate the photos and the fundamentals behind it. We often take most of it for granted,” she said.

Lutgen has managed to use her skills to better direct her during assignments. She now knows what would look better in front of the camera.

She is looking forward to becoming a runway model in the short run before achieving her dreams of working in Berlin, the hub of arts and media and perhaps even become a successful graphic designer one day.
