Journey to closer ties

What say you on the issue below?

SEVENTY police personnel from Penang will brave the wind and rain for three days in a state police contingent convoy to Kedah and Perlis.

They will be travelling from Penang to Jeneri in Sik, Kedah, to take part in a Hari Raya Haji celebration before visiting the Kedah police contingent headquarters.

The convoy will then be visiting the Perlis police contingent headquarters and the Seri Kenangan Children’s Home in Kangar, Perlis.

Inspector Yuzilawati Mohammed Yusof, 27, from the south Seberang Prai district police headquarters said this was her second time taking part in the programme.

Rose among the thorns: Insp Yuzilawati getting ready for the trip.

“The programme enables us to be closer to the community on the streets,” she said during an interview before the flag-off at the state police contingent headquarters on Penang Road.

Insp Yuzilawati is the sole woman rider in the convoy led by Penang police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Wira Ayub Yaakob.

His deputy, Senior Asst Comm Datuk Abdul Rahim Jaafar flagged off the riders at 9.30am yesterday.
