Hotel’s annual do incorporates essence of Halloween

What say you on the issue below?

IT WAS a night of horror, haunting and hair-raising as the ghouls, monsters and night creatures of the underworld grouped up to party!

It was quite a scene at the Hotel Armada Petaling Jaya’s 13th Staff Annual Dinner & Dance.

The annual do incorporates a Halloween theme in conjunction with the celebration.

Spooky: The Armada Hotel public relations department came dressed in scary outfits.

During this time of the year, “creatures of the underworld” rose from the pit, and were seen flocking into the den of horror, which was actually the newly renovated Atlanta ballroom that had been specially made-up to the theme.

The bloodthirsty monsters were then fed with spook-tastic programmes such as departmental performance: where they strutted their stuff or put on a short skit which got the audience screaming and cheering with laughter.

The evening got livelier when the Karaoke Competition took place as five finalists competed and sang their hearts out in their most scary outfits.

Spicing things up were special performers to entertain the “undead” audience with killer dance moves as the special guest DJ spun the night away with top hit tunes.

Also, lucky devils got to go home with superb prizes as their number got picked by the bosses during the lucky draw session.

Here you go: Armada Hotel general manager Hoon Tai Chee (centre) presenting the prize to the Finance Department which won the Best Performance award.

The creepy event was made better with the Awards Ceremony for Employee of the Year 2010.

The title was awarded to Laila Gilingan of the housekeeping department for Heart of the House and Kelly Chin from the sales and marketing department for Front of the House, whilst Management of the Year was awarded to Alias Saad from the culinary department.

With the title of Management of the Year being won by the culinary department, it was no surprise that food served for the night fitted well with the theme, the chefs definitely channelled their creative best and conjured up a delectable buffet spread with a haunted twist.

As the night drew to a close, the lights were dimmed and so out came all the true monsters to dance the night away!
