Heart-warming generosity

What say you on the issue below?

CHILDREN of the Pure Lotus Bodhi Home received an enormous lift when the home was presented with a cheque for over RM70,000 for its Education Fund.

The fund, which was launched in July this year by Amphenol TCS regional manager Lee Teong Li, will be utilised to give the children a balanced education and learning structure.

Lee said that he initially pledged to raise up to RM30,000 for the education fund but was pleasantly surprised the fund raised far exceeded the target.

“My heart is filled with joy and I hope that these underprivileged children will have the opportunity to pursue their educational needs for a better future,” he said.

“The children today will be tomorrow’s leaders. How they are moulded, nurtured and educated is vital for our nation’s future success.”

Home chairman Venerable Lyan Shih said that the fund would give the underprivileged children an opportunity to learn and interact well in the community.

“An environment with well-educated people gives a solid foundation for the country to have the opportunity to prosper harmoniously for a better tomorrow,” she said.

Besides the mock cheque presentation, the children of the home were treated to a fun-filled Children’s Day party to commemorate International Children’s Day, with art demonstrations and light refreshments.
