IT WAS a joyous and proud moment for the staff of Ancasa Hotel & Spa Kuala Lumpur as they celebrated pastry chef Hasshukri Harun’s win in the second Malaysia Cocoa & Chocolate Day.

Hasshukri’s dragon sculpture — The Legend — was awarded the best sculpture.

Hasshukri said it took three weeks to come up with his chocolate creation as he wanted to make something unique.

“After nine years with Ancasa, this is my first gold win and having the hotel appreciate the staff for their achievement is a bonus because our hard work is acknowledged,” he said.

UDA Holdings Bhd leisure and mall division chairman Syed Nazri Syed Kamaruzaman was happy that the win has helped promote the hotel.

He said they would continue to identify talent regularly and help them to reach their potential.

“It is the employee’s personal satisfaction when he does well but indirectly the hotel gets exposure too.

“We give them training overseas in skills such as chocolate and bread-making.

“Hasshukri is talented and we have sent him to Australia for training before,” he said, adding that it will encourage the staff to stay on with the company and feel appreciated.

The management and staff also celebrated birthdays for the September and October babies.
