What say you on the issue below?

A TOTAL of 560 franchisees, principals and teachers of the Smart Reader Worldwide fraternity throughout Malaysia gathered recently to celebrate 11 years of success in the industry.

Extraordinary franchisees were rewarded under different categories.

The highlight of the evening was the announcement of the Franchisee of the Year 2011 award which went to Sua Yen Pei of Smart Reader Kids (Taman Inderawasih, Bandar Perda, and Pusat Bandar Seberang Jaya, Prai).

For the first time in the history of Smart Reader Worldwide, the Most Promising Franchisee 2011 award was bagged by a franchisee from Sarawak, Evelyn Law Yen Chui of Smart Reader Kids (Tabuan Jaya Baru 2, Kuching and Uni Garden, Kota Samarahan) and Smart Reader Kids Junior (Tabuan Jaya Baru 2, Kuching).

The awards, received by the franchisees, mirror the quality achievement and excellence of Smart Reader Worldwide, in being conferred the Peak of Success and Inspirational Company awards during the BIZZ Awards event in Rome, Italy and the Gold Award in the category of children’s education during the Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand Award event this year.

The awards night, themed “Mystery @ 11”, was launched by Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism Ministry deputy secretary-general Datuk Daud Tahir.

Daud, together with Smart Reader Worldwide chief executive officer Dr Richard Ong and Smart Reader Worldwide group executive director of Dr K.H. Wang, gave away the main awards, namely Diamond, Platinum, Gold and New Impressive awards.

The Franchisee Award Nite 2011 witnessed 108 franchisees walking away with the main awards.

Another 15 and five franchisees received gold pendants, signifying the renewal of their franchise agreements for another term of five and 10 years respectively.

In his speech, Ong congratulated all the 108 award recipients for being high-performing franchisees this year.

“Although the standards are higher, it is heartening to note that the number of winning franchisees has grown this year,” he said.

Ong also applauded the achievements of Datin Nor Hidayawati Jaafar, the franchisee of Smart Reader Kids in Seksyen 4 Tamb-ahan, Seksyen 9, Seksyen 3 and Seksyen 7, Bandar Baru Bangi, Taman Tropika, Kajang and Lake Valley, Bandar Tun Hussein Onn, who will be the first Malaysian franchisee to be awarded with an “Honorary Stevie Award” in New York this month.

This is a much coveted award for women in business and will set a new record in the nation’s franchise history.

All in all, the Smart Reader Worldwide event was an inspiring one which honoured many great achievements of its franchisees.
