The band is named after its Year Five pupil, Suriya Prakash, 11.

In June this year, Suriya participated in the two-day Persona -- Talent Workshop organised by Proton and jointly hosted by DJ Aanantha and the Actors Studio Academy at KLPac.

Twenty-one pupils were taught upbeat tunes and feel-good lyrics to sing, dance and believe in themselves.

Suriya, and two other pupils, Vishnupriya Tiyagaraja, 9, from SJK (T) Nilai and Narreesh Meganathan, 10, from SJK (T) Melaka Kubu, were picked to be featured in Aanantha's music video called Thannambikkai (Confidence in Tamil).

Aanantha said the musical instruments were purchased using the fund raised from the sale of music video CDs in first week of October, which fetched RM30,000.
