THE discovery of a 120m-high waterfall by the Johor Forestry Department is expected to draw more tourists to Hutan Lipur Gunung Berlumut in Kluang.
Boarding facilities will attract more tourists to Hutan Lipur Gunung Berlumut.
State tourism, domestic trade and consumer affairs committee chairman Hoo Seong Chang, who is also the Paloh state assemblyman, said the discovery had to be highlighted so that more people would know about it.
"Visitors only need to follow the path provided by the State Forestry Department. It will take about one hour to reach the waterfall," Hoo said after launching an eco-run at Hutan Lipur Gunung Berlumut.
He urged those living in the vicinity of Felda Kahang Timur and Ulu Dengar to organise activities and provide facilities that would draw more visitors to the area.
"Cultural events and facilities such as chalets will attract tourists to Hutan Lipur Gunung Berlumut," he said, adding that 211,480 visitors went there for recreational activities from the beginning of last year to last October.
This marked an increase in the number of visitors in the corresponding period in the previous year
