Web of intrigue: Children trying their luck at a game stall during the PTCS family carnival at Methodist Boys School on Jalan Air Itam.

IT was a day of get-together for the members of Penang Teachers Cooperative Society (PTCS).

The day was filled with fun for the children when they participated in PTCS annual family carnival at the Methodist Boys School.

Ex-teacher William Gomez, 71, said the carnival was interesting as there were a number of family games to promote closeness among family members.

“I have been a member of the society since 1974. The carnival allows me to keep in touch with my friends, who remain in PTCS,” he said when met at the carnival re-cently .

His granddaughter Nicole Gomez, 11, said she had fun at the carnival.

“I loved the games here,” she said.

Memorable outing: Children enjoying a horse ride.

She added that she also loved other games such as basketball and the horse rides.

PTCS chairman Datuk Tan Gin Soon said the carnival was held to benefit the members and to promote closeness among them.

“Members are able mingle with one another besides enjoying the weekend with their families. There are also educational programmes such as the cake decorating and sushi-making demonstration held for the members,” he said.

PTCS secretary Md Haniffa Hamid said the society also invited children from the St Joseph’s Home and The Penang Down Syndrome Association to join in the carnival.

Perak Road Fire and Rescue Department also exhibited a fire engine at the carnival for children to hop on the vehicle for a memorable experience.
