A show of unity 100-strong contingent’s attire turns heads

What say you on the issue below?

A 100-strong 100PLUS contingent turned heads at Stadium Shah Alam, as they stirred up the excitement of their fellow spectators at the Malaysia Cup 2011 final.

Their shouts and cheers and their uniform look in their specially designed 100PLUS jersey, scarf, bandana and balloon clappers made them stand out in a sea of other football fans who were clad in their respective team colours, as they all watched Negri Sembilan take on Terengganu live in a thrilling match that ended with Negeri Sembilan defeating Terengganu 2-1.

“This outing is really something different; money cannot buy experience that strengthens ties among my colleagues.

Standing out: Some of the supporters at the game.

“We see each other daily at work, but everyone just seems like a different person when we’re fully kitted out in our special 100PLUS outfit complete with face paint.

“It was like an alternate reality for us all and it was icing on the cake that my favourite team won.

“The match was really thrilling and Negri Sembilan deserved their win, especially with the first-class winning goal by Hairuddin Omar.

“I’m really looking forward to more unmissable activities with my colleagues,” said Arbain Ahmad from the raw material (manufacturing) section, commenting on his experience at the match.

“At 100PLUS, we have always been supportive of the local sports scene and we are proud to sharewith our employees the opportunity to witness some of our nation’s best footballers in action in this prestigious tournament.

Splash of colour: The 100-strong 100PLUS contingent at the recent Piala Malaysia finals.

“The Malaysia Cup final has always been a momentous event in the local sporting calendar, and we are glad that our eye-catching 100PLUS team managed to make this year even more memorable for the spectators.

“The euphoric camaraderie among our personnel was wonderful and they were all elated to turn so many heads!” 100PLUS marketing manager Jennifer Lim said.

Also present to see their favourite footballers in action were the winners of the Sorak Teriak Bersama 100PLUSFacebook campaign.

Just by being fans of the 100PLUS Facebook page, they had the opportunity to win three grand prizes of exclusive autographed football boots, gloves and jerseys from Malaysia’s top footballers Safee Sali, Safiq Rahim and Khairul Fahmi, and tickets to the finals.

All they had to do was create their most creative shout out in support of their favourite team.

Another 30 consolation prize winners of the contest also received tickets to watch the Malaysia Cup 2011 finals.

The Malaysia Cup is a prestigious football tournament in Malaysia and is amongst the oldest football tournaments in Asia.

It is contested on an annual basis in accordance with the format prescribed by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM).

The tournament is the final curtain that closes the annual Malaysian football season.

The tournament was first held in 1921, then called the Malaya Cup, and is participated by the states that form Malaysia.

Now, after almost 90 years, the Piala Malaysia is still up for grabs amongst the football teams in the country.
