THE Bayan Baru Rukun Tetangga’s Ladies Wing and the Metropolitan Sports & Recreation Club will organise a charity line dance competition and jam session themed ‘Healthy Women Build Healthy Communities’ at the Sunshine Square Banquet Hall in Penang on Dec 16.

A joint Christmas celebration will also be held at the event.

Jointly organised with Sunshine Square, the event will see free health screening for women and an exhibition on women’s health.

Event partners include the Mount Miriam Cancer Hospital, the south-west district Health Department and the Department of Consumer Affairs.

Entry fee for non-competition participants in the jam session (individual) and team competitors are RM20 and RM100 respectively.

Proceeds from the event will be channelled to the Pusat Harian Harapan Bakti Balik Pulau.

Winning teams stand a chance to walk away with attractive cash prizes of up to RM3,500 and trophies.

Pantai Jerejak Barisan Nasional coordinator Wong Mun Hoe said participants would be given between four and 10 minutes to strut their stuff and would be judged based on their technique, showmanship and footwork.
