What say you on the issue below?

NOSTALGIC rock takes centre stage as the theme for the Autumn/Winter 2011 collection of Pandora, the international jewellery brand known for its customisable charm bracelets.

Pandora Malaysia executive director Datin Zarida Noordin was on hand to introduce Pandora’s latest collection that is now available in Malaysia.

“The raw, elegant designs inspired by the rock style with a nostalgic twist creates a feeling of vintage with an attitude,” said Zarida.

Affordable luxury: Pandora’s Autumn/ Winter 2011 collection are now available at its seven outlets in the Klang Valley. Seen here is the boutique at Tropicana City Mall, Petaling Jaya.

The collection features a brand new necklace concept — a unique design that can combine as many as eight Pandora necklaces into a layered look for versatility.

Also new are two elegant sterling silver bracelets — one designed to hold one traditional or new decorative clip, the other as many as five.

Other standouts include a star-shaped pendant and charm in black oxidised silver that evoke a vintage feel.

Starry starry night: Among the standouts from Pandora’s Autumn/ Winter 2011 collection are stars, hand-finished in black oxidised silver for a nostalgic rock feel.

Several new additions to the Pandora brand are a line of 14k solid gold earrings, pendants and dangle charms with intricate lace details and diamonds, as well as large cocktail rings featuring amethyst or grey moonstone that are great for stacking.

The linked necklaces and stackable rings are inspired by the mix-and-match style of Pandora’s signature charm bracelets.

Zarida said the latest collection also gives Pandorians (Pandora fans) a larger variety of products to be more creative and personal with their individual styles.

Celebrating special moments: International jewellery brand Pandora is known for its customisable charm bracelets. Its concept allows women to personalise their jewellery and create their own styles.

Describing Pandora as affordable luxury with fine craftsmanship, Zarida said: “Pandora’s unique appeal is its charm bracelet. It is the only brand in the world that gives women the opportunity to create their own designs by customising their jewellery.

“It’s about women telling their own stories and putting the unforgettable moments in their lives on Pandora’s exquisite charm bracelets, which commemorate special occasions and make great conversation pieces,” she said.

“Pandora has over 5,000 charms for every treasured moment, with supporting items like clips, spacers and safety chains to enhance functionality and beauty.

“The jewellery can be worn simple or layered, whether for a dress-up or dress-down occasions, thereby allowing for different combinations for different outfits or occasions.”

Pandora’s key collections feature Moments — a patented jewellery concept with bracelets in 14K gold, sterling silver or leather string that can be combined with a large variety of charms, Stories with matching sets of jewellery in 14K gold and sterling silver with gemstones, Liquid Silver — a timeless collection in sterling silver inspired by the fluid movements of water, Compose, Lovepods and Black Crown Diamond Watches.

“Pandora is fairly new in Asia, with the brand just marking its first year in Malaysia. However, in terms of market share, Malaysia has the biggest number of retail points in Asia,” said Zarida.

“Pandora is well known in Europe, America and Australia, and is expected to create a stronger presence in the whole of Asia by the end of next year.”

“Pandora’s clients are predominantly parents who want to buy jewellery for their daughters, or women buying charms for their girlfriends,” she said, adding that localised charms like that of the orang utan and Laughing Buddha are popular among foreign tourists who buy the charms as souvenirs of their visit to Malaysia.

In conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness month, Zarida said Pandora will be donating 5% of the sales from its Breast Cancer Collection to the Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia.

There are presently seven Pandora outlets in Malaysia, with two more slated to open at Gurney Plaza in Penang and The Spring in Sarawak by the end of this year.

The seven outlets are located at Bangsar Village II, Empire Shopping Gallery, Tropicana City Mall, 1 Mont’ Kiara, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Suria KLCC and Ampang Point Habib showroom.
