Faizul Hafiz on cloud nine in Chiangmai

FAIZUL Hafiz Zulkefli became the champion of the grand final of the Cross Creek Pharmaton Classic in Chiangmai, Thailand recently.

The 24-year-old Faizul, who is from Kuantan, carded a two-round score of 78 and 72 competition played at the Alpine Golf Club and Highlands Golf Club and won the prestigious title by a massive nine strokes.

In second place was Keegan Kam He Sen on 159 (84-75) after a countback. S. Sasi Kumar, who had a two-day score of 159 (79-80) settled for the third spot.

Dr T. Rajendran, a 15-handicapper) returned with a score of 142 (72-70) to win in the nett category. Ng Say Fong was second on 148 (75-73) while Nordin Yahya was third on 152 (80-72).

A total 20 players — the 10 winners in the nett and gross categories — from the national final, had qualified for the grand final in Chiangmai.
