69 Komando on the lookout for a new base

What say you on the issue below?

THE country’s elite police unit, the 69 Komando, is back to searching for a piece of land within Perak and Pahang to build a proper base exclusively for it.

Unit commander Senior Asst Comm Azizan Abd Aziz said 69 Komando was recently allocated a 500ha plot of land in Pahang but it was not suitable to be used as a base due to its hilly terrain.

“We have surveyed the area and decided to use it as a practise ground instead,” he said.

Full attention: The 69 Komando police unit marching during the unit’s 42nd anniversary at the General Operation Force base camp in Ipoh, Perak.

The base for 69 Komando would have exclusive training facilities including other infrastructure to improve its efficiency and for its future development.

Commander Azizan was speaking to reporters after witnessing a march past held in conjunction with the unit’s 42nd anniversary at the General Operations Force base camp in Ulu Kinta, Ipoh recently.

Specialising in special operations ranging from counter-terrorism to rescue operations, the unit currently shares a base camp with the General Operations Force.
