KFC is once again inviting its customers to Double Down but this time to the Maxx.
However, diners would only get their tummies filled with the new Double Down Maxx burger.
The original KFC Double Down bun-less burger, introduced in 2012, is now back with double the crunchiness and taste.
The burger is made using KFC’s signature flavours including a hot and spicy fillet stacked with hash brown, a slice of cheese and a layer of smoky chipotle sauce (Mexican-style condiment using dried jalapeno peppers as one of the ingredients).
Officiating the launch were KFC Malaysia senior vice-president Ling Mee Jiuan and its general marketing manager Kelvin Hong.
Ling said: “KFC is eager to test waters when it comes to new creations and the Double Down Maxx is one of our best.”
She said that the original Double Down burger promotion years back saw a double-digit increase in sales and is confident the current product would better the former’s sales by five per cent.
The Double Down Maxx is available for a limited time only at KFC’s 600-over outlets nationwide.
It is priced at RM10.90 a la carte, with the Lunch and Dinner Combo at RM12.95 each (including one regular-size Cheezy Wedges and a regular-size carbonated drink).
However, the Lunch and Dinner combo sets are not applicable at KLIA and KLIA2 airports, Penang Airport, Legoland and Genting.
KFC is also organising the Double Down Maxx challenge where participants would take a selfie with the new burger in the most creative way and post it onto KFC’s Facebook contest page or Instagram with the hashtag #DoubleDownMaxx.
The top 40 outstanding posts will win a Double Down Maxx drift experience with Tengku Djan, the country’s number one drifter.
