KELAB Golf Perkhidmatan Awam (KGPA) became the overall champions in the Klang Valley Junior Circuit at the Kelab Golf Subang Negara (KGNS) recently.
After three legs, KGPA had amassed 450 points to finish ahead of KGNS (425 points) and Monterez (300 points).
The circuit was an initiative by KGNS to provide a platform for juniors in the Klang Valley to play in a competition.
KGNS general manager Azmi Abdul Rahman said the three-leg circuit was a success.
“The first leg was played at KGNS and Royal Selangor Golf Club (RSGC) hosted the second leg. KGNS took charge of the final. About 60 juniors took part in the third leg. We also had a order of merit for each of the five groups,’’ said Azmi.
KGNS’s Adam Mohd Jamil shot a 71 to emerge as the champion in Group A. In second place was Kelab Rahman Putra Malaysia (KRPM)’s Joshua Gibbons on 73 while Mohd Afzal Zubir from KRTU was third on 76.
KGPA’s Noralissa Abdullah carded a 79 and was the winner in Group B. Her teammate Sazanur Iman Salenin registered 75 and triumphed in Group C by three shots. KGNS’ Warda Amira was the winner in Group D with a score of 77.
In Group E, a countback favoured K. Rhassrikanes after he and Adam Ariff Mazri were tied on 77.
In the Order of Merit, KRPM’s Joshua Gibbons was the winner with 360 points.
Nuralissa, representing KGPA, collected 300 points to be declared the overall winner in Group B.
Monterez’s Mior Asyraf Haziq, with 176 points, was the winner in Group C. The winner in Group D was Warda Amira with 370 points while Sheikh Abdul Razak won in Group E with 285 points.
