MALACCA: Avillion Legacy Malacca celebrated the season of joy with a charitable effort for the less fortunate children in the city.
The prestigious hotel feted 60 children from three charity homes to a Christmas party at the hotel’s impressive glass dome lobby, recently.
The event was organised as part of the hotel’s corporate social responsibility as well as sharing the Yuletide spirit with the underprivileged children.
The party began with appearances by Santa Claus and Santarinas and distribution of candies to the delighted young ones, eliciting broad smiles on the children’s faces.
While savouring the delicacies offered by the hotel, a quiz session was conducted while Christmas gifts were handed out.
Sathiya Murugiah,15, from Sri Ramakrishna Ashram Home said it was a great experience to dine at the hotel and was excited to perform an Indian classical dance.
The energetic children also won many presents during the various fun-filled games planned by the hotel’s staff.
“I am very grateful that the less fortunate children are still loved and cared by the corporate organisation,”said Malacca’s Calvary Care administrator Albert Peh.
The highlight of the event was when donations were presented to the three homes by hotel general manager Low Kee Nam.
Low said the hotel has created a bond with children and would continue to foster ties with other homes in the future.
