Fancy winning a Porsche Boxster “Banker’s Edition”? For Malaysian holders of UOB’s credit or debit cards, there’s still two more months until Jan 28 next year to get a shot at winning the customised luxury car, valued at half a million ringgit. Otherwise, UOB cardholders can still stand a chance being one of the lucky 100 to win a daily cash prize of RM1,000.
Titled “Chance In A Lifetime”, all this contest requires is a minimum swipe of RM50 on a UOB debit or credit card.
According to UOB (Malaysia)’s managing director and country head of Personal Financial Services Kevin Lam, cardholders could swipe their cards either locally or overseas.
“In fact, if you use your card overseas, you earn five automatic contest entries with every multiple of RM50 spent. It could be for any purchase. Especially now at the end of the year, as there are sales and holiday gifts,” said Lam.
He added that for those who do not already own a UOB debit or credit card, each successful new card application would earn 10 automatic entries upon card activation.
When asked about the top prize, Lam said it was difficult to say whether this was the most expensive prize they have given out so far.
“It’s hard to say whether this is our highest value prize so far. But I believe that for our cardholders and for this contest, we should give the best,” he said.
The “Chance In A Lifetime” contest has already run for a month since Nov 1, with 30 lucky cardholders already notified of their RM1,000 winnings, including cardholders from overseas.
Three daily cash prize winners, Aravendashan Ramasamy, Noor Hisham Che Din (representing his daughter Aina Shamiram who is studying overseas) and Eric Cheong Wai Hon receive their winnings at the new Porsche showroom along Jalan Bukit Bintang recently.
This does not mean they are out of the running in the contest to win the Porsche Boxster, said Lam.
“They can win the daily cash prize, but they are still in the running to be selected for the top prize,” he said.
The winner of the contest would be announced in mid-February 2012.
