AN ECLECTIC array of styles and design elements was captured in a canvas of artistic flair at PJ College of Art and Design (PJCAD)’s Tavolozza Di Reverie graduation fashion show put together by 13 creative minds.
A showcase of the finest works by graduating students, Tavolozza Di Reverie was also a representation of the skills, knowledge, ideas and workmanship acquired and developed over three years in the Diploma in Fashion Design and Technology programme — all intricately woven together to create an unforgettable afternoon of glamour.
The collection — featuring the creations of budding designers Law Shu Yee, Denise Embert, Eesher Pua, William Sim, Matilda Low, Chan Siew Le, Nadiah Farehan, Nelisha Wong, Nicholas Fong, Puteri Shabira Dayana, Yew Shu Yee, Yves Yong and Hyacinthe Kaur — displayed modern silhouettes, characterised by a swirl of colours linked to the four seasons and fused with a pinch of Malaysian heritage.
One of Malaysia’s premier specialist private art and design institutions, PJCAD nurtures and guides every student until their inherent potential is unlocked with creative input by its team of industry-trained instructors who ensure that every student is versatile, adaptable and able to understand the constantly evolving demands of the industry.
“At PJCAD, we demolish the mental barriers among these young designers and open new dimensions for them to explore, while consistently exposing and encouraging them to experiment thus learning the aspects of designing through visual judgment,” said PJCad fashion and industry Es Azren.
He said this method ensured that students would have a firm foundation in research, design methodology and practical skills in drawing, communications and fashion design.
As a leader in creative education for over 25 years, PJCAD’s career-focused programmes in Fashion Design and Technology, Graphic Design, Interior Design, and Interactive Multimedia and Animation Design leverage on global best practices, innovation and resources to provide a world-class education.
Among the many awards that students of PJCAD have won are merit awards at the Direct Marketing Association of Malaysia (DMAM) Awards Night, silver award in the International Landscape Competition organised by the National Landscape Department, runner-up in the IMU International Art Competition and grand prize in the Schwarzkopf Professional-Salon Meets Art.
