It is a nationwide competition for its staff that is aimed at setting high standards in customer service at all Kedai Ayamas and RasaMas outlets in an ambience that is clean, well-maintained and served by friendly and efficient service teams.

More than 60 staff and employees in 16 teams took part in the inaugural competition that began early this year.

The finals that were held at Wisma KFC, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur saw the staff and teams from all over the country full of enthusiasm and energy competing in the many challenges.

Trophies and cash awards went to the Best National Ayamas Challenge Team, Best Manager, Best Cutting Expert, Best Roaster Expert, Best War Cry, Best Full Moon Decoration, Best Koolerz Decoration, Best Koolerz Sales by Outlet and the runners up.

Awards were also given to Restaurant Support Centre for the Wholesales Division, Quality Assurance, Training and Operations team.

“The challenge is the bedrock of our excellent product and service standards and our mission to provide the best for our customers,” said KFC Holdings Bhd (KFCH) managing director Jamaludin Md Ali.

“It evaluates all our store and restaurant team members on their procedural knowledge and skills and gauges the quality of their service speed and accuracy.

“It encourages everyone, at every level, to take accountability for not only meeting but exceeding customer expectations.”

There are now 75 Kedai Ayamas stores in Malaysia, 25 RasaMas restaurants in Malaysia, two RasaMas restaurants in Brunei and more are being planned.

In 2010, Kedai Ayamas’ revenue increased 36% to RM55.1mil and RasaMas’ revenue rose 8% to RM24.3mil and the company expects to do even better in 2011.

“One day we hope to make the names Kedai Ayamas and RasaMas as popular as KFC and Pizza Hut,” he said.

RasaMas restaurants serve a wide selection of halal combination meals built around its trademark Roasters and an array of side orders.

Kedai Ayamas sells all Ayamas products, including both primary and further processed chicken products. They also carry more than 900 products which include frozen, chilled, groceries, beverages, juices and many more.

Kedai Ayamas have recently introduced the “home delivery” service for selected areas, where customers can have meals and products delivered to their doorsteps. They also provide services such as catering.

Both Kedai Ayamas and RasaMas are owned and operated by Ayamas Food Corporation Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of KFCH.
