ETIQA employees and agents celebrated Hari Raya Haji with the residents of Pantai Dalam at Masjid Al-Ikhlasiah, sharing and spreading the spirit of the celebration with the surrounding community, especially the poor.
“We have organised such celebrations in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor for the past few years.
“We want our employees, agents and the community to enjoy and benefit from this celebration,” Etiqa CEO and director Datuk Aminuddin Md Desa said.
The programme kicked off with the Hari Raya Qurban prayer and a ceramah for the guests.
Seven cows were then sacrificed with the help of Etiqa’s employees.
While some of the employees learned more about the sacrifice, others gained an insight on cooking the different parts of the meat.
Working tirelessly to cut, dice and pack the meat, the employees were tired yet happy to be able to help out. Later, those present took turns helping with cleaning and distributing the meat to the poor.
“It was tiring as there were many things to help with but, at the end, seeing how much I contributed made it worth the while,” Mohd Noor Adzwan Adam from the Shariah Department said.
More than 400 guests were later served lunch and those who had helped out also received goodie bags.
