IN ITS efforts to help flood victims in Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang, AmBank Group contributed food and essential items to the flood victims recently.
This is part of AmBank Group’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative to alleviate the sufferings of the flood victims in these states and bring them cheer.
The 38 employees from Region 5 comprising staff from Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang also contributed life jackets while some of AmBank’s clients gave their speedboats for use to ferry flood victims. About 60 employees in Kelantan spent their after office hours packing goodies for the flood victims.
Assisted by the Fire Rescue Department and the police, the volunteers led by Region 5 regional manager Mohd Nawi Mohd Yusoff travelled in three Fire Rescue trucks and 24 four-wheel drive vehicles to reach the flood-hit areas in Kelantan.
The volunteers then distributed food and essential items to 154 families at the relief centre in SK Bunohan at Pengkalan Kubur.
Moving on to another relief centre in SMK Rantau Panjang, Rantau Panjang, the volunteers distributed food and essential items to 435 families.
A lunch was also organised for the flood victims.
In Jerteh, another 111 families received food and essential items.
“We are pleased to play our part in helping the flood victims with our contributions in the form of food and essential supplies and also life-saving equipment such as life jackets and hiring of boats to ferry the flood victims. We hope our contributions can ease the pain suffered by the victims, some who have lost their homes,” said Mohd Nawi.
The group also made similar contributions to relief centres located at SK Gelang Mas and SK Bunohan at Pengkalan Kubur and SMK Rantau Panjang.
