KUALA LUMPUR: A woman who is believed to be drunk, caused a commotion and tried to attack a policeman, after her car was towed away for obstructing traffic in Jalan Ampang early today.

The 30 something woman became angry when told that her vehicle parked near an entertainment joint had been towed away for indiscriminate parking.

She was screaming by the roadside, hurling foul language at the police before being calmed down by some friends.

Ops Halang was led by Kuala Lumpur acting traffic police chief Supt Rusli Ahmad assisted by 24 officers and men.

The three hour operation which began at 12.30am was held at Jalan Pinang, Jalan Ampang, Jalan P.Ramlee, Jalan Yap Kwan Seng and Jalan Ipoh.

Rusli said 170 summonses were issued on vehicles for obstructing traffic and that four were towed away.

Summonses were also issued on taxi drivers who obstructed traffic by waiting near entertainment joints.

"We will ask taxi drivers associations to get their members to obey the law," he told reporters early today.

He added the operation would be conducted regularly to make motorists wary of the need to follow traffic regulations.
