Faizal Ismail and Zizan Razak are back as hosts of Anugerah Industri Muzik, writes Faisal Asyraf
ZANY duo Faizal Ismail and Zizan Razak, fresh from their stint at the recent Akademi Fantasia 2014, are back to host Anugerah Industri Muzik 21 (AIM21).
Faizal, fondly known as FBI, said: “I am happy to once again be paired with Zizan. He is crazy, funny and spontaneous. Every line that comes out of his mouth is a punch-line. That makes my job easier because I don’t have to think too hard.”
The two hit it off when they hosted AF. “I admit feeling a little bit nervous when we worked together for the first time, due to our differences in personality. But we always engaged in discussions on how to complement each other. Now I can say we are completely comfortable together.”
Zizan returns for the second time to host AIM. He debuted as AIM host in 2011, co-hosting alongside Datuk AC Mizal. “I feel honoured to once again be entrusted to helm AIM. Faizal and I will make sure that we give our best to make the prestigious awards show entertaining,” he said, at a Press conference in Istana Budaya recently.
The Press conference also revealed the line-up of award presenters and performers.
On being paired again with Faizal, Zizan said: “I’m proud to be working with Faizal. He is my mentor and I consider myself a beginner in the hosting world. I learnt a lot from him. He is considerate and he takes other people’s opinion into account. With him, it feels more like play than work.”
Dismissing claims that his presence overshadows Faizal, he said: “We wouldn’t be selected again if the claim was true. More importantly, I am here for the event, not for my personal interest.”
Nevertheless, Zizan apologised to those who think he overshadows Faizal. “I know some people don’t like my style and my jokes, but that’s okay. I will take note and improve.”
Zizan said, for this AIM, their job, among others, is to make sure the spirit of the awards show is in-line with the message Muzik Kita Menawan Jiwa (Our Music Captures The Heart).
“We will keep the focus of our speech on the composers, lyricists and singers. After all, the objective of AIM is to recognise and honour local talents. We want to show that our talents have qualities that are on par with international acts,” he said.
