KANGAR: MORE than 1,000 people had a fun time splashing water at their friends and family at the Traditional Water Festival at the Kuala Perlis Fisheries Development jetty here recently.
The two-day festival was organised by the state Tourism and Culture Ministry and officiated by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azlan Man.
Azlan said the state government was mulling to list the festival into the state’s annual tourism calendar.
The festival was first organised in 1950 and was held annually until 2009.
The festival featured traditional games and among its fun-filled activities were boat racing, fishing competition, pillow fight, and sepak raga on board boats.
There was a telematch, ping pong in the water, catch a duck game, balancing a ball on a boat and sewing fishing nets demonstration.
Gifts were presented to participants.
