IN THE spirit of Christmas, Bangsar Village donated RM47,000 to three charity homes during its Christmas Light-Up event recently.
The three beneficiaries of the charity were Rumah Kanak-Kanak Angels (RM12,000), Stepping Stones Home (RM20,000) and the Rumah Pengajian Xavier (RM15,000).
The Loaf Bakery and Café played host to 45 children from all three homes, while tenants at Bangsar Village contributed food and drinks for the community Christmas party that also saw the lighting up of the area for the holiday season.
A choir entertained the crowd with Christmas carols to kick off the end of the year festivities.
This year also saw the collection of presents from the community for the 100 children in all three homes.
Three gigantic red socks were put up for the collection of the presents, all of which were well filled.
The donations were made possible thanks to the generosity of the Bangsar Village community that participated in activities organised under the banner of the Bangsar Village Kids for Kids Charity.
“Every year, the charity raises money from the events and activities it organises with the kind support of our community’s children who pay a participation fee in our events,” said Bangsar Village complex manager Tan Joon Kai. He also personally thanked the community for their support without whom the aid to the homes would not have been possible.
