ANGRY Birds certainly made the day for 50 pupils living in Buntong.
The children were all smiles as they lined up to receive new school bags bearing characters of their favourite puzzle video game, which is the current craze among the young and adults alike, at the Buntong Barisan Nasional Service Centre last Saturday.
They each also received a pair of school uniform, socks and shoes, which centre head Wilson Choo said were a contribution from the MCA to help lessen the burden of their parents in the next school year.
In his speech Ipoh Barat Barisan community service bureau chief Dr Cheng Wei Yee advised the pupils to not only focus on getting a string of A’s but also mind their manners.
“We must be courteous when we speak and never use bad language or foul words. We must also respect our elders,” he said.
