Man dies in fiery car crash after tyre bursts

ALOR SETAR: A man was burnt to death after his car burst into flames when it crashed into a road divider at Km68.2 of the North South Expressway near Pendang here.
The charred remains of the unidentified car driver was found by firemen at about 5.30pm yesterday.
Pendang OCPD Deputy Supt Fadzil Hashim said the driver was believed to have lost control of his car when one of the tyres burst.
The car crashed into the divider before exploding in flames.
“The identity of the driver is still unknown as his personal documents, which were on him, also went up in flames.
“The deceased is said to be in his 20s. He was heading to Alor Setar at that time,” he said when contacted.
Kedah Fire and Rescue Depart-ment public relations officer Nurhafizah Muhammad Lukman said an engine was deployed to the scene after they received an emergency call at 5.11pm.
“When we reached the scene, the car was still in flames and had to be extinguished. We have since handed over the case to the police.”
