JOHOR BARU: The state Health Department is investigating a complaint where a doctor allegedly took photos of a patient in labour with her private parts clearly visible, which are now spreading on social media.
Johor Health and Environment committee chairman Datuk Ayub Rahmat said that the Department had already started investigations into the matter.
"We have already identified the doctor and the hospital concerned. Investigation are underway and we will decide on the next course of action," he told The Star when contacted here on Monday.
He warned medical personnel not to misuse technology and uphold their professionalism.
The doctor, believed to be in her 20s, came under fire as Facebook users criticised her actions for disrespecting the patient's privacy.
It is learnt that the doctor has been serving as a medical officer in the hospital near Taman Mount Austin here for the past three years and was known for taking selfies while at work in the operation theatre.
