KUALA LUMPUR: The Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V on Tuesday sworn in office as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to-15 in full ceremonial ceremony at the State Palace here.
Also sworn in office was the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah as the Deputy Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
Both he was elected by the Malay Rulers in the meetings of the Council of Rulers to 243 (Special) at the State Palace, 14 Oct, for a period of five years from today.
Sultan Muhammad V, 47, replaced the Sultan of Kedah, Sultan Abdul Halim expiring government as Yang di-Pertuan Agong 14th, Monday.
The ceremony in the Hall series begins today with a meeting of the Conference of Rulers To-244 (Special) in conjunction with the pronouncement of the oath and signing the Oath of Office by both Majesties.
Special Meeting was chaired by the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
Ceremonial start, Keeper of the Rulers' Seal Datuk Syed Danial Syed Ahmad appear Letter of Oath of Office to Sultan Muhammad V, who later pronounced Oath of Office before signing.
Letter Oath of office was later signed by the Sultan of Terengganu Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin and the Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Putra Jamalullail, as a witness.
Letter Oath of Office he also signed by Sultan Mizan and Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin as witnesses.
Finished the ceremony, Keeper of the Rulers' Seal then informed that the Conference of Rulers to 244 (Special) suspended for a time to be determined later.
Hall event in the series was followed by the ceremonial signing of the declaration of office by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and his deputy.
Start the ceremony, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is flanked Datuk Paduka Maharaja Lela, Maj Gen Datuk Md Tajri Alwi and his assistant Azuan Effendy Zairakithnaini face and his Letter-writing the Declaration of office to be signed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Deputy Yang di Pertuan Agong.
He then read the declaration that Sultan Muhammad V was sworn in as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Nazrin 15 while also sworn in as the Deputy Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
Ceremonial ceremony that was broadcast live by Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) concluded with a prayer by the Federal Territory Mufti Datuk Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri.
All nine Rulers or his representatives and three Head of State present at the ceremony, except Sarawak Governor Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud who represented the Sarawak Legislative Assembly Speaker Datuk Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar.
Also present were Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, great ministers, chief ministers, cabinet ministers, members of the House of Representatives and Senate as well as government officials.
After the ceremony in the Hall series, he led a ceremony overlooking followed by Cabinet ministers and VIPs.
