Fined RM80,000 failed prominent statement GST

IPOH- The founder of Vida Beauty beauty products, Datuk Seri Dr Hasmiza Othman fined RM80,000 after he pleaded guilty to 16 counts of failing to come forward statements of goods and services tax (GST) from April 2015 until July this year.

Punishment was made Judge Murtazadi Amran after he changed his plea when the case is called today.

Earlier, Hasmiza made the plea after the charge was read before Murtazadi at the Ipoh Sessions Court here a while ago.

The accused has committed an offense under Section 41 (6) of the GST Act 2014 by failing to file GST returns within the prescribed period of 1 April 2015 until 31 July 2016.

He allegedly committed the offense at the Customs Department, the GST, Customs Office, No 1, Jalan Tun Razak here.

Murtazadi also fixed Dec 30 for mention of the offense failed to pay the GST tax of RM4.2 million charge against him for the same time period.

Prosecution was conducted by deputy public prosecutor Datuk Raja Rozela Raja Toran and Farah Khan Ezlin Yusof while the accused was represented by counsel Syed Ahmad Syed Abas
