KUALA LUMPUR: Global Perodua Manufacturing Sdn Bhd (GMSB), a sophisticated vehicle manufacturing arm under Perodua group, produce 250,000 vehicles all recently, since it began operations in August 2014.
According to a statement Perodua, of that number, 85 percent were Axia model (since August 2014) and 15 per cent is a model Bezza (since June 2016).
President and Chief Executive Officer of Perodua, Datuk Dr Aminar Rashid Salleh said it was a historic achievement for the whole group Perodua.
"This is because employees GMSB have worked hard to ensure that our customers orders can be delivered within the stipulated time," he said in the statement.
According to Kia, the company sold a total of 167,000 vehicles for the first 10 months of 2016, with 44.2 per cent for model Axia, Myvi model followed at 24.9 percent, Alza was 17.3 percent, and 13.6 percent Bezza (since July 2016).
About the latest release of Bezza model, Perodua has delivered over 22,000 units since it was launched last July and the waiting period for these models is less than two weeks after the car loans approved by financial institutions, according to the company.
Aminar said Perodua would like to maximize the delivery of all customer orders in line with Perodua's pledge to be a compact car manufacturer that can deliver vehicles to customers on time.
GMSB established on Feb 26, 2013 was a Perodua's efforts to become competitive automotive brands globally and it is part of the company's transformation initiatives.
GMSB factory is also certified energy efficient by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry for using minimal energy and environmentally friendly chemicals.
GMSB has 2,150 employees and is capable of producing 200,000 vehicles a year in two-shift working cycle.
