PORT DICKSON - Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) is ready to send aid to earthquake victims in Pidie Jaya, Aceh, Indonesia, Malaysia Armed Forces chief Jen Tan Sri Dr Zulkifli Mohd Zin.
He said the ATM has put an Airbus A400M as well as medical supplies and a mobile hospital tent shaped in standby if the situation requires.

Zulkifli said this when asked to comment on the more than 100 dead and thousands made homeless by an earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale in the district of Pidie Jaya, Aceh on Wednesday morning.

On the occasion, Muhammad Syaif Hanippudin announced as a student officer cadets graduated from the best whole army, Imran Omar (student cadets graduated from the best academic ground troops), Klugman Pirmang (students overall best officer cadets graduated from the navy) and Zulfadhli Abdul Malik (students overall best air force officer graduates).
In KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysian Youth Council (MBM) today launched the 'Humanitarian Fund for Aceh Earthquake Caring' to help victims of the earthquake disaster.
MBM Secretary Ahmad Yusup said Saparudin targeted RM100,000 collected during the campaign run until Dec 25 this.
"MBM will also move this fund to collect donations around the country for humanitarian aid," he said at a press conference.
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Indonesian embassy in Malaysia Trigustono Supriyanto said the quake caused an estimated 43,000 people homeless and 343 buildings, including mosques and schools were destroyed.
He said 40 relief centers built by the Indonesian military and volunteer organizations in Aceh.
"Assistance to residents in the area also went smoothly including basic supplies such as water," he said.
