Liew: IRB will not scrutinise details submitted by BR1M applicants

What say you on the issue below?

Applicants for 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) should not be worried over rumours that the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) will check the details submitted to get potential taxpayers.

Serdang MCA chairman Datuk Liew Yuen Keong said the rumour that IRB would scrutinise the applicants’ details in the form was not true.

“The Finance Ministry appointed the IRB for the aid project because the agency has the information required. Applicants should not be worried and should continue with the procedure required to get the aid,” he said.

Liew said people in Serdang who missed the chance to get the BR1M forms during the recent distribution period could still obtain them at Serdang MCA office in Taman Bukit Serdang.

Shoddy work: Serdang MCA members showing a part of Jalan SK 5/9 which was not tarred.

“They can come to the MCA office to fill in the form by Jan 10 and not wait until the last minute.

He advised the public not to become victims of a syndicate selling the forms, which are distributed free.

On another matter, Liew said the Subang Jaya Municipal Council had done a bad job repairing a road in Kampung Baru Seri Kembangan.

He said the work that was done a week ago did not follow the standard technical requirements.

“It is obvious the layer of tar was too thin and not compressed properly. There is also a big part of Jalan SK 5/9 that is not tarred properly. Potholes have appeared and pose a danger to motorcyclists,” he said.

Liew said Serdang MCA had received complaints from unhappy residents about the poor quality of the roads.
