LISTENERS and the public will get to find out “What Makes a Capital Woman?” at the grand launch of Capital FM 88.9 today from 11am onwards at Lot 10, Bintang Walk, Kuala Lumpur.
The event will feature a whole-day carnival packed with activities, contests, goodie bag giveaways, stage games and performances.
Among the highlights are a beauty bar by Sasa, Funk It Up pampering treat by Snips Academy, Ink It temporary tattoos and Gorgeous Geeks contest by Yes 4G.
All about women: The presenters are (back row, from left) Patricia K, Kuan, Kam, Ooi, Sheela, Asha and (front row, from left) Tony, Liang and Joey G. Tony will join Kam and Joey G on the Talk of the Town breakfast segment as a special guest-announcer. In addition, Capital FM 88.9 fans will be able to redeem exclusive goodie bags, which are available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
The event offers an opportunity for the public to get to know the faces behind the voices as well as interact with their favourite Capital FM 88.9 deejays from 3pm onwards.
The Capital FM 88.9 deejays and celebrity presenters are Joanne Kam, Asha Gill, Xandria Ooi, Patricia K, April Kuan, Sheela Haran, Joey G and Liang.
Local celebrities and personalities will also be gracing the event.
Senior representatives from Star Radio Group and Star Publications (M) Bhd will be present to kick off the launch at 4pm.
The launch will be followed by performances by Vodka Vulvas and Panic Crew, as well as stage games with the Capital FM 88.9 deejays.
Guests and partygoers will then end the night with a wrap party away to tunes spun by Joey G and Patricia K.
The new Capital FM 88.9, which went on air on Dec 1, aims to be a “real radio station for real women” with the tagline, Women - The New Capital.
