Get ready to party with brand’s new looks

What say you on the issue below?

INSPIRED by the catwalks during the recent New York Fashion Week, Maybelline New York unveiled its Autumn/Winter 2011 which highlights looks of the urban chic, glamorously sexy and party-ready.

Maybelline marketing manager Low Yee Lee said the urban look spoke of a strong and confident woman.

“Much like the women we see in cosmopolitan cities like New York. The make-up takes a fresh and clean approach, with a natural palette in mind.

Fierce: The models all dolled up with Maybelline’s AW collection.

“Strong eyes rule the look, with shades of brown, khaki and greens on the lids enhanced with dark liners for that confident look. Lips get a slick of nude to keep it soft and approachable.

“Tough-girl jacket go great with the look with leather being the preferred material,” she said.

Meanwhile the high-shine look was evident with shimmery shades on the eyes, glossy lips and soft skin.

“Eyes are the focus for the sexy look. Think of opening night make-up when the spotlight is on you,” she said after the Maybelline autumn/winter 2011 fashion show themed “From Catwalk to Sidewalk” at Mid Valley Megamall recently.

“As for fashion, anything sparkling and shining with sequins are great while asymmetrical designs form a starlet-inspired look or one can go with feminine chiffon and shades in nude pink and rose gold to keep things feminine,” she added.

As for the party look, Low said it was all about undressing the face and keeping it fresh with a pop of colour on the lip.

“This look is subtle yet confident, with glossy full lips that turn into a sweet smile all night long.

“The fashion that goes with this look is something that stands out much like a modern day princess, full of poise.

“Bold hues like red helps to and make a grand entrance but feminine forms like midi dresses and cut-in waistlines give you a lady-like feel,” she said.

Inspired by the versatility of colours, the event ended with a show of creativity by designers and make-up artists who created unique couture looks for the catwalk.

“Keeping in line with 2012’s trend of jewel tones and bold hues, we showcase a range of high voltage make-up to create styles that stand out.

“The expressions are an explosion of wild colours with bold hues on the eyes, mascara for dramatic lashes, eyes lined with the boldest of black liners and lips soaked in rich colours.

“Lastly, with accentuated and bold eye brows to frame the features,” she said.
