Middle East group seeks trade ventures

A DELEGATION from the Middle East was invited by Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Ahmad Fuad Ismail for a meeting in his office at the Kuala Lumpur City Hall tower in Jalan Raja Laut recently.

The 10 delegates, headed by Enany Group chairman Sheikh Hassan Enany, was down in Kuala Lumpur for a three-day tour which began on Nov 30.

The group has more than 30 companies and businesses in the Middle East, Europe and the United States and is represented by more than 100 companies in Saudi Arabia.

The investment arm handle various portfolios including telecommunication, construction, investment and financial advisory, real estate development, technology, trade, agro-business and computer software management and consultancy.

According to Hassan, the delegation was in town to determine possible ventures in Malaysia.

“Our group is completely diversified. We are looking for something that will best suit our requirements and so far everything looks promising,” he said.

Hassan added that they would be meeting contractors who would be interested in business ventures in Saudi Arabia.

During the trip, the delegation visited the Petronas Twin Towers, Kl Tower as well as other attractions and developments in the city.

Hassan’s last visit to Malaysia was in 1995.

Fuad said there was always good potential for investment in real estate, tourism and financial sectors in Kuala Lumpur.

“We are always willing to help. Once they approach us and follow all the guidelines required we can easily grant them the approval within three months,” he added.

Fuad also said, the delegation would have to study their options and investment ideas first to check if it was feasible.
