KUALA LUMPUR: MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu has brushed aside an online portal news report that he would be going on two months’ leave from his presidential duties.
“I spoke to the portal some time ago. This is not current.
“I don’t want to speak about this,” he said.
It is believed that Samy Vellu had spoken to the portal in June about his intention to go on leave when he was in Kuching.
The online portal reported that Samy Vellu was “seriously considering” going on leave for two months from his duties.
This would perhaps be in three months’ time at the earliest, the portal added.
The portal also claimed that Samy Vellu had announced his tentative exit strategy during two telephone calls to the portal on Friday.
