Have you ever wondered what it must be like to travel on business class or gasp, first class? Perhaps someone of you might have the experience but for many of travellers, “cattle class” is all that they might be able to afford. To be fair some of the airlines’ economy classes are still a pretty good deal.
Well for those of you who have not experienced taking a “pampered” flight we try and bring you the next best thing. A peek into some of the perks business class and first class travellers get. One such extra is the amenity kit given to them. Here’s a look in at four airlines’ customised and branded amenity kits. One thing’s for sure if the passengers use the kits they will come out looking fresh and smelling good.
Malaysia Airlines
Introduced in February this year, Business Class passengers get the Porsche Design amenity kit comes in a hard shell case. The case customised with batik motifs comes in coffee and jet black for inbound and outbound passengers respectively. Inside, passengers will find a travel-sized Acca Kappa Green Mandarin body lotion and lip balm. The kit is reviewed every quarter.
As for First Class passengers, a Bvlgari amenity kit awaits them. Within is a Bvlgari skincare range. Introduced on the airline’s A380-800 inaugural flight on July 1 2012, it includes a rich body lotion, nourishing hand creme and a moisturising lip balm. The First Class amenity kit is reviewed twice a year.
Both amenity kits also include toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, hand sanitiser, foldable comb, socks and eyeshade.
Emirates
If you’re a male passenger on Business Class you a two-tone bag that has a Bvlgari Top Box for cosmetics (contains 40 ml after shave emulsion, 40ml body lotion and 5ml eau de cologne); deodorant; razor blade with shaving foam; toothbrush, toothpaste and dental pouch; tissue; and brush comb.
A female passenger would get a satin bag (brown or beige) that has a Bvlgari leaflet (contains 30ml face emulsion, 30ml hand cream and 5ml eau de cologne); mirror and brush comb; toothbrush, toothpaste and dental pouch; tissue and refreshing towel.
First Class male passengers get a leather bag (lamb skin) that contains the same items as those on business. Their female counterparts get a satin bag (different style) in brown or beige that contains also the same items as in business except the eau de cologne is replaced with a 10ml fragrance bottle.
These version of amenity kits were first introduced in June 2012.
Lufthansa
Business Class passengers flying out from KLIA gets either a striped mini-duffel bag or a grey Samsonite bag depending on the sector. In it are a Korres skin care set (moisturizing cream and lip balm); teeth cleaning set (teeth brush, smilecare toothpaste, mints); socks; Uvex earplugs and headphone protection; and a sleeping mask.
The kits were first introduced in May 2015.
Qatar Airways
For the male passenger on Business Class gets a stylised black Giorgio Armani bag filled with Acqua di Gio fragance and 75ml after shave balm and also lip balm, socks, eye shades and ear plugs. The women instead get a Si fragrance and 75ml perfumed body lotion with an addition of a hairbrush.
The kits were first introduced in April 2015.
