50,000 attend open house

PEKAN: At least 50,000 people attended Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor’s Hari Raya open house here.

The occasion yesterday started at 11am and ended three hours later, with visitors ranging from VVIPs right down to the ordinary folks.

Among those present were Sultan Pahang Sultan Ahmad Shah Sultan Abu Bakar, his wife Sultanah Pahang Sultanah Kalsom, Tengku Puan Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Sultan Iskandar, Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob and other state dignitaries.

Traditional food including rendang, laksa Pekan, nasi bukhara, nasi beriyani and satay were among the food served in the 100 food stalls.

“The open house displays how friendly Malaysians are, mixing around. Some of my guests were those outside from Pahang too,” Najib said.
