KLANG: The personal aide to Selangor executive council (exco) member Ronnie Liu has been questioned by the Commercial Crimes office over alleged links between the exco's office and the criminal underworld.

Chong Eng Hock, accompanied by Mandy Ooi, the special aide to Teresa Kok who is also a state executive councillor, arrived at the Selangor Commercial Crimes office at the Selangor Umno building here at 10.45am on Wednesday.

Chong said a few police officers from Bukit Aman had served him with a notice of summons at his home in Klang at about 8pm on Tuesday. He said the police wanted his help in their investigation.

“They wanted to know more about the allegation by (Wangsa Maju Member of Parliament) Wee Choo Keong that the executive council’s office was being used as a meeting point for the underworld.

“We are giving our cooperation as we have nothing to hide,” he said after about three hours of questioning on Wednesday.

Wee had lodged a police report against an exco member in August alleging that the office of the executive council was being used as a meeting point for the underworld.

It was reported that Bukit Aman police officers had seized a logbook from Liu as part of its investigation into the allegation.

In September, another of Liu’s aides, Wong Chuan How, was questioned by the Selangor Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in its investigation into the alleged abuse of constituency development funds in the state.

Last Friday, the Putrajaya MACC also questioned Liu himself as a witness in an investigation into the allocation for the Sg Pelek constituency.
