Fireworks Explosion Victim Forced to Forget School Session Tomorrow

KLANG: A victim of the explosion of fireworks on New Year's Eve had to forget the first day of school tomorrow because of injuries in 2017 has yet to recover.

Fakri Muhamad Adib Mohd Fareed, 10, who will be entering year four Sekolah Kebangsaan Telok Gadong here suffered serious burns in the legs due to exposure to sparks in the incident at the Sport Complex Market, here.

"Sad, too, that school has finished all but the doctor said first sit home because your feet hurt," he told reporters at his residence in Kampung Delek here.

In addition Fakri Muhamad Adib, was also injured in the incident Fareez Mohammed is his brother Adam, 12, wounded in the back and his father, Mohd Fareed Mustamam, 37.

They were among 14 people who were injured in the incident.

Fireworks show was the highlight of Fiesta Concussion organized Klang Klang Municipal Council starting from last Friday until yesterday.

Meanwhile, Mohd Fareed said he hoped that similar incidents are not repeated in the new year to come.

He said all security measures for visitors and fireworks equipment must be taken seriously to avoid similar incidents from happening.

"I just was injured on his left hand after falling while trying to escape," he said.

Earlier, Secretary of the Klang Municipal Council (MPK), Adi Faizal Ahmad Tirmizi visited them.
