IN KEEPING with the Government’s agenda to make healthcare more inclusive, the community health provider Pantai Hospital Klang (PHK) introduced its Rural Outreach Initiatives among the disadvantaged and underprivileged residents of Kampung Sungai Kembung.
The one-day medical camp offered free health checks for more than 100 villagers, including free circumcision for 15 boys and diet counselling by PHK’s trained, professional dieticians.
Speaking at the occasion, Pantai Hospital Klang CEO Stanley Lam said: “We, at Pantai Hospital Klang, have always been a committed and responsible community healthcare provider, operating for more than two decades in Klang. In keeping with our brand promise — Caring from the Heart — our endeavour has been to extend the benefit of our medical services beyond urban areas, to help those in need of such support due to financial or geographical challenges.”
“Circumcision is an obligation in Islam; besides, it is also a way to improve hygiene and provide more protection against dreadful diseases including prostate cancer and urinary tract infections. In fact, infant circumcision gives almost 100% protection and young adult circumcision gives a large degree of protection from prostate cancer and bladder infection,” he added.
Also present to deliver the Rural Outreach Initiatives was Datuk Mazlynoor Abdul Latiff, who supported Pantai Hospital Klang’s noble initiative and presented new school stationeries to the 15 boys who underwent circumcision.
