DISCOVER the secrets that went into making one of the most successful film series of all times, Harry Potter, right where it all began at the Warner Bros Studio Tour London by winning the “Ride, Watch and Win” contest that was launched recently specially for passengers of the Electric Train System (ETS).
Though the train’s destination will not be Hogwarts, passengers will still be transported into the magical world of Harry Potter and his friends through all eight of the series’ movies that will be screened onboard the coaches for the next three months.
“Part of the screening will include the never-before-seen Hogwarts’ Last Stand promotional piece. This footage will contain the answer to the question on the contest forms,” KTM Berhad president Dr Aminuddin Adnan said.
The tour package includes flight tickets, accommodation, ground transport and a visit to the studio for one person.
Another contest requirement is the purchase of any ETS train ticket and original Harry Potter VCD, DVD and BluRay with original receipt.
According to Asiantra Media Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Por Yew Guan, a different Harry Potter movie will be shown onboard each week.
“We are also selling the limited-edition Harry Potter box set that contains all eight movies as well as an exclusive photobook. This is available at the ETS head office in the Kuala Lumpur train station for RM399.90,” he said.
He added that there were only 200 sets available in Malaysia and each had its own serial number from 001 to 200.
During the launch of the promotional activities, it was revealed that one of the ETS trains will be featuring a Harry Potter wraparound.
Currently, the ETS Platinum and Gold coaches travel the Ipoh to KL Sentral route with the latter making six stops at stations in between including at the Kuala Lumpur station.
As for the ETS Silver coach, it travels the Ipoh-to-Seremban route with 17 stops in between including KL Sentral and the Kuala Lumpur stations.
It takes the Platinum coach an hour and 58 minutes to reach its destination while the Silver takes two hours and 30 minutes.
All promotional activity will end on Feb 18.
