IN conjunction with the upcoming Mid Autumn Festival, residents in Petaling Jaya will be treated to some of the best Chinese classical music by local songstress Yudi.

Yudi, who is known for her fine vocals and beautiful rendition of Bai Guang and Ge Lan’s signature tunes, will be at PJ Live Arts’ Lightbox Theatre in Jaya One, Petaling Jaya, for a special three-day performance to celebrate the festival.

Petaling Jaya Selatan MP Hee Loy Sian, who is organising the event scheduled for Sept 25-27, said they wanted to attract the older community and residents in the area to be involved in activities and celebrations in the constituency.

Yudi: Is known for her fine vocals and beautiful rendition of Bai Guang and Ge Lan’s signature tunes.

“Previously we only concentrated on the younger community where we hosted lantern parades and food fests but this year we want to make it special and memorable for the elders too,” said Hee during a press conference recently.

The event is jointly organised by Bukit Gasing assemblyman Edward Lee as well as Taman Medan assemblyman Haniza Talha.

Besides enjoying classical numbers, the organisers are also pledging to donate all proceeds from the ticket sales of the show to three charity homes in Petaling Jaya.

Lee said the event was also to raise awareness on the homes (Agathians Shelter, Beautiful Gate and PDK Taman Kanagapuram) that required assistance.

Seats for Yudi’s showcase is limited as the auditorium hall can only accommodate 300 patrons at a time. Hence, those interested should buy their tickets early.

The organisers have also reserved 100 tickets a day for the disabled and senior citizens to watch the show at no charge.
