A TOTAL of 24 roads in Taman Selayang Jaya, Taman Indah Perdana and Taman Selayang Baru in Selayang are ridden with potholes that could pose a danger to motorists.
Eighteen roads in Taman Selayang Jaya have potholes.
According to Selayang MCA public complaints bureau chief Johnson Ooi, the potholes had been there for the past one-and-half years but no action had been taken by the Selayang Municipal Council despite numerous complaints by the residents.
“In fact, some residents along Lorong SJ11A and SJ11B in Taman Selayang Jaya had covered the potholes with cement and stones to prevent any untoward accident,” he said.
“Three weeks ago, I personally witnessed a motorcyclist riding into a pothole in Jalan SJ24, which could have been fatal if the motorcyclist did not manage to control his bike,” said Ooi, adding that he hoped the council would look into the problem immediately before any accidents occurred.
