300 guests enjoy bubbly dip at hotel bash

What say you on the issue below?

THE scent of vanilla filled the air as guests covered in white fluffy foam danced the night away.

Living up to its tradition of celebrating birthdays with a bang, Hard Rock Hotel Penang had guests revelling in its first Ultimate Foam Party to mark the hotel’s second anniversary.

A special aerating fan spewed out a steady stream of scented bubbles at guests gathered in a 12m x 6m ‘tub’.

In no time, the 300-odd guests were coated from head to toe in a layer of soap-like suds.

Split into separate sessions for kids and adults, the party proved a fun time for everyone as guests threw foam at one another.

For added entertainment, the guests also enjoyed a live band performance by local rap-rock group Dragon Red, and an ingenious mash up of music by DJ Desire.

“It has been a great two years and we have successfully created exciting parties and various music showcases in Penang,” said general manager John Primmer.

“For holidaygoers, Hard Rock Hotel Penang is the ideal choice for a fun and happening vacation.

“It’s going to be pretty awesome as we move forward,” he said.

Primmer, together with executive assistant manager Shane Coates, later executed another Hard Rock birthday tradition by smashing a set of guitars as the crowd cheered him on.

Almost immediately, a fireworks display lit up the night sky to cap off proceedings.

Those who missed the inaugural Ultimate Foam Party on Thursday, fret not, for it’s set to be a fixture on the hotel’s activities line-up.

It will now take place every Saturday at the poolside, with the kids’ session to be held between 5pm and 7pm, and the adults’ time slotted for 7.30pm to 11pm.

Entry for adults is priced at RM30nett and kids below 12 at RM20nett.

Hotel marketing communications manager Elisa Saw said foam parties had been held at other Hard Rock locations previously, and they believed it was the time Penangites got in on the fun.

“It’s something a little different for the locals to come and enjoy,” she said.
