Ipoh Parade Bridal Fair showcases the best dresses for the special occasion

IT IS every bride’s dream to don the perfect wedding gown and have all eyes on her when she walks down the aisle with the man of her dream.

While having made the choice of whom to marry, the next important thing for all brides-to-be is to pick the perfect dress.

The Ipoh Parade Bridal Fair 2011 fashion show allowed potential brides to do just that with a showcase of over 50 gowns presented by Keep Gallery Wedding Studio, Oscar Digital Studio, Only You Wedding Gallery and I Do Bridal Collection, in a single event.

Needless to say, the sight of so many beautiful gowns had also stopped many shoppers in their track.

First on the catwalk was a series of creamy chiffon dress. Adorned with glittering sequins and shiny flecks, they exuded timeless sophistication with a touch of contemporary.

Brides who appreciate the Chinese culture would have been glad to see the simple scarlet red dress embellished with vivid arrangements of golden peacock feathers and cut out floral motifs at the bottom of the dress.

Another piece that stood out was the strapless aqua green shimmering dress, which had fit its model like a glove. With red roses sewn diagonally on both ends to add a three-dimensional effect to it, the dress would definitely bring out the hourglass figure of any bride.

As the model wearing a lustrous purple gown sashayed down the runway, many in the audience were left in awe by the details on the triple-tiered dress, which was divided symmetrically by thin layers of soft pink lace and black frills.

Another of their favourite was the sleek milky yellow dress embroidered with unique scrollwork designs. The black waist sash and strips sewn around the neckline and the bottom edge of the dress would accentuate any bride’s demure elegance.

Cheong Chee Hin, managing director of Five Star Events, organiser of the four-day fair which ended last Sunday, said a total of nine exhibitors from Ipoh and Kuala Lumpur had taken part.

“We had over 500 couples visiting the fair throughout the event,” he said.
