KL Hospital nurses deserve a pat on the back

What say you on the issue below?

On July 20, a resident of Siri Jayanti Welfare Organisation Old Folk’s Home (Setapak) was admitted to Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) for treatment.

The patient fell into unconsciousness when her health condition worsened.

Before the incident took place, the home’s supervisor had advised the said resident to place personal belongings and money in safekeeping but the resident had said it would not be necessary.

When she was admitted to HKL, a relative informed the supervisor that the patient always had some money pinned to her shirt and asked the supervisor to look out for it.

Unfortunately, there wasn’t any shirt or apparel left in her room.

On Aug 9, the chief nurse of Ward 23, Sister Hasimah Jusoh called the old folk’s home, saying that her nurses had found cash amounting to RM5,291 tied to the patient’s body.

I would like to commend Sister Hasimah (U32) and all Ward23 nurses for their honesty and integrity.

Secondly, Siri Jayanti Welfare Organisation Old Folks Home wishes to say that the service quality and standard of government servants have improved tremendously from the last decade.

We can proudly confirm this as we are regular “visitors” to HKL due to the age of our residents.

Lastly, we would like to take this opportunity to extend our heartfelt appreciation to chief nurse Sister Hasimah Jusoh and all her nurses for their patience in attending to the patients and sincerity in returning our resident’s belongings.
